Why is leave not deducting from the allowance?

The most common reason is that the leave type is not configured to deduct from an allowance.

To check this, go to the Settings > Leave Types page, you can already see in the overview when a leave type is not set up to deduct from any allowance.

When opening the leave type, the DEDUCT FROM ALLOWANCE dropdown controls whether leave types deduct from allowances.

  • If this is set to "Does not deduct" then requests of this leave type will not deduct from any allowance.
  • If you wish it to deduct, then select which allowance to deduct from.

When making a leave request, an informational message is also shown to indicate that a leave request for the leave type is not set up to deduct from any allowance.
